COLOR

Color that looks like it grew that way.

Balayage, foils, all-over color, gray coverage, and the occasional bold red or violet. Nona mixes for your skin tone and your lifestyle, and she is the stylist clients come back to after a color went wrong somewhere else.

Color and balayage at Nika Salon

Every color visit starts with a consultation in the chair. Nona looks at your natural base, what is already on your hair, how often you want to come back, and how you actually style it on a Tuesday morning. Then she recommends the technique that gets you there with the least damage.

Balayage and hand-painted highlights grow out softly, so you can stretch appointments to eight or twelve weeks. Traditional foils give a brighter, more uniform lift. All-over color and root touch-ups cover gray or shift your tone. Glazes and toners refresh color between bigger appointments.

Nona also takes color corrections: brassy blonde, banded highlights, or box dye that went darker than planned. Those appointments take longer and she will tell you honestly what can be done in one visit and what needs two.

Bond-building treatments like Olaplex can be added to any lightening service for $40.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

What is the difference between balayage and highlights?

Highlights are woven and foiled from the root for a brighter, more even result. Balayage is painted by hand, heavier at the ends, so the grow-out is soft and appointments are further apart.

Will you match a photo?

Nona will tell you what is realistic for your starting color and hair health, and what it will take to get there.

Do you do vivid colors?

Yes. Reds, magentas, violets, and blues are all on her Instagram. Vivids need pre-lightening and fade faster.

How do I make color last?

Sulfate-free shampoo, cooler water, less heat, and a toner or glaze between full appointments.
